Overview

SEQUENCER is a centralised management and control system for a group of hydronic chillers and heat pumps, sequencing and rotating operation across multiple units to balance runtime and optimise overall plant efficiency.
Built for Easy Integration
SEQUENCER can control up to 5 units — of similar or different capacities and technologies — in 2-pipe systems, including air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, free-cooling chillers, evaporating units, and air/water or water/water heat pumps. It’s supplied as an all-in-one industrial unit with its own adjustment probes, fitted directly into the hydraulic system pipework.
Smart Control Logics
- Load Balancing — demand is spread evenly across available units, increasing efficiency during partial-load operation and pairing well with variable primary-flow pump setups
- Load Saturation — each unit runs to its maximum output before the next is activated, reducing pump power consumption on inactive chillers and suiting constant primary-flow systems
Energy & Cost Management
SEQUENCER actively manages the system’s operating set-point to optimise energy use, including dual set-point operation, 4–20mA set-point variation, and outdoor-temperature-based set-point adjustment. A “Demand Limit” function can cap the number of active units — useful for reducing night-time noise or limiting resource use during peak electricity pricing.
System Integration
SEQUENCER communicates with units via RS485 serial connection and can operate standalone or integrate with third-party building management systems using standard protocols: ModBUS RTU over EIA RS-485, BACnet MS/TP, BACnet over IP, or Echelon.
